Mrs Ranka is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry including Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Implantology.
Mrs Ranka’s main areas of interest include fixed and removable prosthodontics, management of complex restorative cases including oral rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancer, treatment of toothwear (with a confirmative and reorganised approach), hypodontia (congenitally missing teeth) and implant dentistry.
Mrs Ranka has vast experience in periodontics and has treated numerous patients with periodontitis with a non-surgical and surgical approach where indicated. She has the experience of joint orthodontic-restorative treatment planning for treatment of patients with hypodontia and cleft lip and palate. She enjoys her work of restoring smiles and oral rehabilitation. She qualified as a dentist in 1997 and completed her MFDS in North-East England in 2005. She commenced her specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at the Liverpool Dental Hospital and attained FDS (Rest Dent) RCS in 2012 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mrs Ranka was appointed as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal Preston Hospital in July 2013 and was the Clinical Director of Dental Specialties from 2016 to 2018. She achieved clinical excellence awards for her work during this time in addition to a charitable grant from Rosemere Cancer Centre for treatment of head and neck cancer patients.
She was the Clinical Audit lead and regularly chaired the Evidence Based Dentistry Forums at the Hospital.
Thereafter, Mrs Ranka worked as Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital for 6.5 years until June 2025. She was involved in the set-up of the Restorative Service for this region, with her specialist interest in Head and Neck Cancer. She regularly attends courses and conferences for continuing professional development and has completed an Advanced Implantology course at the Branemark Institute in Johannesburg, SA. She has published papers and guidelines in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the British Society of Prosthodontics and has been actively involved in the Restorative Managed Clinical Network. At home, she is a busy mum and enjoys spending her time with her husband and son. She plays badminton and her hobbies include crafts, travelling and cooking.

Qualifications and Specialisations
Mr Malton is a fully qualified Consultant Maxillofacial Prosthetist and Member, as well as Vice Chairman, of the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists. He is a registered Dental Technician with the GDC (Registration: 125530).
Professional Journey
Mr Malton began his career in 1997 at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital as a Trainee Dental Technician and obtained his Diploma in Dental Technology in 2000. Between 2001 and 2003, Mr Malton worked as a Dental Ceramist while attending evening school at Lambeth College to complete his HNC in Orthodontics.
In 2004, he became a Senior Orthodontic Technician at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and subsequently Chief Orthodontic Technician in 2007 at Wexham Park Hospital. During this time, he obtained a Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Management from the University of West London.
In 2009, he attended Manchester Metropolitan University, studying Maxillofacial Prosthetics & Technology and qualifying as a Maxillofacial Prosthetist in 2011.
In 2013, Mr Malton became the Laboratory Manager of the Maxillofacial Laboratory at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. During this period, he implemented a 3D printing service and secured funding for a CBCT scanner for the trust. In 2020, he was awarded a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute.
Since July 2021, he has served as the Maxillofacial Laboratory Manager at Healthcare Partners Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. He has since implemented BSI ISO 13485 quality management systems within the laboratory, focusing on the quality of custom-made medical devices.
Areas of Expertise
His main interests include the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients who have suffered facial injuries or defects due to cancer, including ocular, auricular and nasal silicone prostheses. He is also highly experienced in Digital Orthognathic Planning and regularly participates in joint planning with surgeons to virtually plan surgical movements.
Mr Malton is an expert in the prosthetic obturation of head and neck cancer patients and has worked closely with Dr Ranka for many years to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Contributions and Achievements
Mr Malton currently works at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford as a Consultant Maxillofacial Prosthetist and has introduced numerous initiatives, including digital surgical planning. He is both a national and international speaker and has lectured on a range of topics, including 3D Orthognathic Planning, 3D Medical Modelling and, most recently, the NHS England “Getting It Right First Time” (GIRFT) report for Maxillofacial Laboratories at the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Mr Malton enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He has a lifelong passion for DJing and pursues this whenever possible. He also enjoys working on building projects, from home renovations to creating model railways.

Mr Keval Shah is our resident Endodontist. His expertise allows him to deal with teeth that have complex endodontic (root canal related) problems, meaning he can save teeth that may otherwise need to be extracted. He has extensive experience in providing root canal treatment and retreatment, apical surgery and dealing with traumatic injuries to the teeth. His compassionate approach ensures an excellent patient experience.
After graduating from the prestigious University of Bristol in 2005, Keval went on to complete the Royal College of Surgeons (England) Membership examinations in 2007.
Kewal is one of the few dentists to be awarded a specialist training position in endodontics at Guy’s and King’s College Dental Institute where he successfully completed 4 years of advanced training and passed all his examinations with distinction.
He was also awarded the Membership in Endodontics by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which is recognised a significant achievement in the field. He currently divides his time between Kings College London – Guys Hospital Campus (as a clinical teacher on the MclinDent Endodontology), and private referral practices

Education and Qualifications:
Dr Bakshi completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS Honours) at Cardiff Dental School in 2015.
